My name is Nick and I am a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) based in Norwich, Norfolk.
There are a lot of different talking therapies available and finding the right one that will work for you is really important. The Person-centred way of working is typically non-directive, offering a confidential safe space that is non-judgemental allowing you to work through whatever is troubling you. With the person-centred approach, the counsellor is not considered to be the expert who can “fix” you but rather it is the individual that has the ability to work towards resolving their own issues when given the support of genuine acceptance and empathic understanding which comes from the working relationship between client and counsellor.
I work with adults on a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety and issues surrounding self-worth and identity which can leave us wondering who we are and what we are doing at any stage of life. Sometimes it can be as vague as knowing something feels wrong but not knowing what or why.
In our first session, we have the opportunity to get to know one another and it will give you an idea of what working with me as a counsellor will be like and if it is right for you. It’s also a chance for me to make sure that I am the right counsellor for you.
You can contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.
